Participants: 5 players

A Republic unit has been pinned down out in the contested zone, with several members killed and wounded. They need evac quickly if the wounded are to be saved. Unfortunately, they have been pinned down by the elite Mandalorian sniper Tera Ordo. Several attempts to rescue the team have already failed, leaving more in danger.

An elite group of volunteers is needed to eliminate the threat and allow the team to be rescued. Will you be able to save the team and defeat Tera Ordo? Or will you just be more notches on her sniper rifle?

The players have a total of 21 actions to defeat Tera Ordo in order to evac the survivors in time. These 21 actions are divided into 4 rounds with each player acting once, and then, if the event is not yet successful, one final action from one player.

However, taking actions generates Heat. Each action taken will generate one point of Heat after the action is completed. When a character has generated 3 Heat, they are shot, taking 13 Damage Pierce 2, and a crit. After that, they lose 1 Heat.


Entering the Scene

First, each player must choose a location, and may make a roll to skillfully make their way to location. Each location has rules for what rolls you are allowed to use to enter it, as well as what benefit you are granted on a successful roll. All rolls are made at Hard (◆◆◆) difficulty.
Allowed Skills: Athletics, Cool, Coordination, Discipline, Piloting (Planetary), Stealth

Edge of Killing Zone: Another step means death, but you’re safe in this spot of cover. With successful entry, add 1 Success to all Draw Fire rolls taken here.

High Ground: The hill overlooking the zone gives an undeniable advantage. With successful entry, add 1 Boost to all Gain the Advantage rolls here, as well as 1 Boost to Shoot Her.

Ruins: These old burnt-out buildings have greater cover. A successful entry roll will allow 4 points of Heat instead of 3 before getting shot.

Thick Bushes: The cover is extremely thick here, which is a challenge to move through, but a skilled combatant gains significant advantages. A successful entry roll adds 2 Setback and 2 Advantage to all rolls made here.

These entry rolls do not take actions. Advantages and Disadvantages become Boost or Setback on the roller’s next roll at a rate of 2-1, Triumph or Despair turn into Upgrades to the roll or difficulty as appropriate at a rate of 1-1.

Clever Girl


After everyone has completed Entering the Scene, the countdown begins. Each round, each player may take one action, in any order. Once every player has acted, a new round begins. The permitted actions are listed below.

Gain the Advantage: Trying to get a better line of fire, flanking or otherwise improving your team’s position. A successful roll here can be used to affect the roll of Shoot Her as follows: Downgrade the Difficulty by 1, remove a non-Challenge Difficulty, or remove a Setback.
Allowed Skills: Stealth, Coordination, Survival, a Ranged Combat skill capable of attacking at least at Medium Range. Difficulty is Hard, upgraded once (◆◆.)


Draw Fire: Getting the attention of the sniper can help allow others to do their job better. A successful roll here can remove 1 Heat from any other character.
Allowed Skills: Athletics, Discipline, Cool. Difficulty is Hard (◆◆◆).

Relocate: The character can move to another location, making a new Entering the Scene roll. This also causes the character to lose 1 Heat. Finally, they may interact with one character at either location, exchanging or using gear, such as trading weapons or applying medicine or stims.

Take Aim: It’s almost time to take the shot. This action uses no roll. If the next action the character uses is Shoot Her, that roll will gain the benefit of the Aim maneuver. Please note, Take Aim still does cause the character to gain 1 Heat.

Disadvantages become Setback on the next roller’s roll at a rate of 2-1. Advantages become boost to any roller’s next action at a rate of 2-1. Triumph can either be used to Upgrade any roller’s next action, or to gain the benefit of any one of the actions they didn’t take. Despair causes the roller to immediately gain 1 Heat.

Any action with a lit lightsaber gains 1 additional heat. However, if this causes you to be shot, you can use Reflect to reduce the damage you receive.

Shoot Her!

At any time, a character may spend one of their actions in an attempt to shoot Tera Ordo using a weapon in their possession capable of firing at Medium or further range, rolling the appropriate weapon skill. Difficulty for the shot begins at ⬟⬟⬟⬟⬟■■■■■. However, this can be changed by the results of rolls in Clever Girl. Additionally, besides the usual sources for reducing setback, please use the following:

Each reduced penalty for firing at distance you can receive removes a setback.
Any Stealth boosts reduce setback.
Each rank of True Aim reduces setback.

On failure, the character is shot, taking 13 Damage Pierce 2, and a single crit. This hit can be canceled with 2 Advantage. Threat increases the severity of the crit at a rate of +5 for every Threat. A Despair increases the severity by 10. Threat and Advantage do nothing on success, while a Despair on success causes the shooter to be shot, as above.

If the roll succeeds, Tera Ordo is badly wounded. She has to flee the field, leaving her rifle behind, and allowing the Republic team to be saved. If the roll succeeds with Triumph, she is additionally captured.

On a Failure with Triumph, the shooter can choose between canceling the shot as with Advantage above, or getting shot but your shot causes Tera Ordo to flee. She does not, however, leave her rifle behind.

Never one to turn down the chance at a hunt, Sirina signs up to challenge Tera Ordo. Eager for the opportunity to assert her claim as apex predator in the region (while also saving a few stranded and otherwise doomed troopers, though she'd never admit it), she opts to Lone Wolf it from the onset. Crawling through the underbrush with her reflec skin active, she gradually works her way into position to eventually strike at the Mandalorian sniper. Arriving at a thickly wooded vantage point, she begins scanning the area to get a sense of the possible hiding spots for Tera, as well as to identify the position of the pinned down Republic troopers. As far as she is concerned, had she not let her fellow Hopers know her intentions to help out, no one would even known she's tucked away in the underbrush, waiting an opportunity to strike.

Hearing the call for volunteers to get some of their troops out from under a particularly nasty sniper, Tomin hops a speeder before stopping to think about it. Sure she has to dodge a bit of fire on the way, since it's not remotely sneaky, but speed and a bit of height offer her an informative 'view' of the situation. No reason not to use the same advantages Tera Ordo set up for herself here. Being local, she spots a well-camoflaged hunter's blind well up in one of the lumpy 'trees' that rely on a mound of their own decomposing core for warmth that lets them keep sap moving for slow growth throughout the year. The blind isn't set up exactly to watch the other high spot the Mandalorian's picked out, so Tomin knows things might be a bit awkward until she really dials in the angles here, but she doesn't think she'll find a better spot.

Well, this was more than a little big sketchy. Still, it was preferable to some sort of underwater ice dragon beating on you. Being shot was about one thousand percent better than being eaten after all. Heck even being stabbed with a lightsaber was preferable to being dragon chow.

Terreck wasn't quite sure why he had started to compare these sorts of things. It probably just occupied his mind a bit as he snuck carefully to the edge of the kill zone. But who could say for certain. Maybe he had spent too much time around Zeline? It couldn't be because of spending time with Apollo, or Snowie for that matter.

With a slight shake of his head, he banished the stray thoughts from his head as he concentrated on the matter at hand. It was time to get this done.

Not forgoing the opportunity to hop on a vehicle and potentially do some shooting at the same time, Vala volunteered for the operation. She borrowed a motorized snow vehicle and zipped out to the site while keeping her head down as low as possible. It was likely that it would be near impossible to maintain a low profile with a motorized vehicle so Vala decided to throw caution to the wind and make her way to the high ground. High risk with no cover but high reward? It seemed all upside to her! If she shot first, she was bound to come out on top!

When a group went around the Hopers camp looking for an elite squad to eliminate a sniper to save the survivors of a unit, Snowflake's heart was heavy, he tried to help them find some of the snipers he knew, but he was sure he couldn't do much to help himself.

Then one of those looking for people said: 'we hope the squad can shoot that Ordo down before her shots take them down!' Then another one looked at Snowflake, thought for a while, and said "Maybe someone really tough could keep her fire under control for some time?..."

It didn't take long for the Gigoran to realise what they meant. Being a big target to keep friends from being hurt? That he could do!

Tomin stowed the speeder, keeping low. She'd spotted Vala flying in as well...hopefully they'd have a nice crossfire to at least pin the sniper inside of her shell.

Their quarry was well settled, and had picked her spot well. But there were always weak points...lines of sight that were cut off if you wanted to be hidden, odd bits of the shelter that weren't as secure as you thought. There were branches in the way that she was sure had been placed deliberately. For a moment, she thought she caught a bright hint of the person inside, just behind that screen. Peeking out? There was a strong temptation to just try for a lucky shot through the branches. But the moment didn't feel right, so instead she burned away the brace holding the greenery in place, opening things up just a bit.

Now that she has the highground Vala carefully stalks along the hill, keeping low to the ground and making sure to move with the cover. The Corellian is just a dark blur. Spotting Tomin maneuvering in the distance Vala carefully takes a rock and hucks it, hopefully drawing the sniper's aim away from her comrade!

Tucked away in the scorched underbrush, Sirina believes she finds a bead on the Mandalorian's sniper nest. Flanking around it through the cover of the thick foliage, Sirina stumbles up to the edge of a forested ridgeline, and, tangled up with vines and brambles as she is, she inelegantly tumbles over the edge and skids dustily down the side of the elevation. Unharmed, and somehow in a better position to strike at Tera Ordo, Sirina nevertheless kicked up a veritable cloud of dust with more than a little noise and most certainly drew more than her share of attention from the sniper.

Seeing Sirina expose herself a little to find a better angle - or maybe try to lure the Mandalorian sniper so she'd change position - Snowflake moves around the areas of cover available in the area he positioned himself, doing his best to look like a more obvious target.

Which isn't exactly hard, really, in his case.

This close to the battlefield it was pretty hard to get a good line of fire to the enemy sniper. Fec nevertheless attempted it. He fell short, but he seemed to at least prove to be something of a distraction.

Day 10: don't waste your shot. Take the advantage stealth at Hard with an upgrade. 2 boosts from Sirina l, 2 boosts from previous roll, 2 boosts from stalker.

Still wholly tangled up in a knot of vines, brambles, and roots, Sirina is unable to actively work towards gaining the upper hand on Ordo. She is, however, a very suitable distraction as she struggles to get free, even if there's no clear shot at her.

With some of the others taking warning shots or trying to find better vantage points, our fluffy Gigoran decides for a bolder approach, putting part of his body (well, *more* of his body) out in the open for a number of seconds that's only high enough to be nerve-wrecking, but not enough to actually take a shot. It should certainly be enough to keep attracting the sniper's attention to himself instead of others, though.

Though he had been unable to find a good position before, a bit more work got Fec in a superior position. It would still be a long shot, but this was starting to seem a lot more manageable.

It was far too earlier to start the actual fireworks so Vala kept to her current tactics to press on some advantage in securing a better angle. She would lay low and shuffle through the snow. The darndest thing about snow is that it always left a trail, which wasn't a concern in the heart of industrial Corellian. Well, she imagined that it would be irrelevant in the long run. That's a problem for future Vala.

While she could feel something flickering in the Force, some momentum building, her instincts led her toward scorching the stairwell visible through broken windows. A durasteel railing deflected it to bounce around the narrow space a moment. But it highlighted that this wasn't a safe route for movement...perhaps there was another, more exposed way for their foe to get out from under the Hopers' fire?

Thanks to the efforts of her allies in outflanking and outmaneuvering the dug in Mandalorian sniper, Sirina finds an opportunity to take a shot once she's disentangled herself from her underbrush. It seems her lack of productivity in the minutes leading up to this moment briefly found Ordo losing track of Sirina. By the time the Mandalorian realizes her mistake, she's turned away from Sirina and isn't set up to trade fire.

Before the opportunity can pass, Sirina squeezes off a shot. The report of her blaster shatters the predatory near-silence of the combat zone, the sound echoing and rebounding off ruined walls to make a cacophony of a single sound. The shot finds its mark, striking Tera Ordo square in the shoulder and causing her to drop her rifle as she ignites her jetpack in a last moment flight to safety.

"Couldn't even get a shot off at the Hopers, eh? Tough luck!" Sirina jeers, though there's no chance the fleeing Mandalorian could hear her. "We're putting the lie to the Mandalorian Myth, one shiny helmet at a time!"

Tera Ordo has been forced to flee, and the injured are rescued!

Additionally, her sniper rifle is recovered, with the following stats:

GALAAR-15
-Marksman Barrel (Increase weapon's range by 1 band, innate talent: Sniper Shot, Accurate 2)
-Superior
-Telescopic Optical Sight (Decrease the difficulty of combat checks at long and extreme range by 1)

Damage 10 Crit 2 Range Extreme HP 0 Stun Setting Accurate 3, add 1 advantage to rolls made using this rifle
