The Sword and the Shield
Location: The smoking ruins of the shield generator, arcs of energy unpredictably shoot from the ruined structure. The generator was the size of a city block and its brutal stone architecture spoke to the device’s simple function. Now it is the sight of furious fighting as the Council Guard is hunted down by the attacking Crusaders.
Activating powered weaponry in the middle of all the arcing lightning is a little dangerous, every time a character attacks with a powered or blaster weapon they suffer 2 strain with no soak allowed as the weapons acts as a lightning rod.
Premise: Incapacitate Warlord Krenna Bal’Fortenes, don’t allow Commander Connors and the Council Guard to be slain. Players roll vigilance or cool initiative.
Opposition: Krenna Bal’Fortneses, a Mandalorian lieutenant, one squad of four Crusaders (melee) and two squads of four Crusaders(ranged).
PCs start at medium range to the Mandalorian Lieutenant and the ranged Crusaders, and at long range to Krenna and the melee Crusaders.
Player Note:
If Krenna is not attacked at least once per round (it does not have to be successful) she will enter the bunker and kill Connors and the surviving Council Guard.
Mandalorian Crusaders (melee) are defence 2
Mandalorian lieutenant is adversary 1 and defence 1
Krenna is adversary 3 and defence 2.

This was it. After all their hard work taking down the commanders and repelling the assaults it was time to end this.
Krenna would not stop, would not surrender. "May the Force be with us." Zephrin activated his lightsaber and leapt into the fray.

He couldn't believe that a dangerous dame had gotten the best of him twice. And a Mandalorian to boot! Truly, you didn't meet a girl like her in every dynasty.
"Force or something is with us, that's for sure," Apollo commented as the strike force got ready. This was personal, in an odd way.

The chaos is nearly deafening. Between the electrical interference and the sounds of combat it’s a wonder you can hear eachother. Ahead of you a last squad of Council Guard puts up a determined fight from what’s left of a bunker as Krenna contemptuously cuts through the last survivors outside it.
The warlord barely spares you a glance as you arrive, her attention firmly on the bunker. You can’t hear the order she gives her lieutenant, but as the Crusaders turn to you with their weapons raised, you get the gist of it.

The Mandalorians rush to engage, the first squad surging forward even before the traditional 'blast'em!' as they open fire on Rece at point blank range, one shot in particular takes the brave chandra-fan in the chest, slipping through his armour!

Hopefully Rece was okay but they needed to even the odds as quickly as possible. With a blur of motion Zephrin was in amongst the other ranged squad of Mandalorians. At least two were taken down before they knew what was happening.
With some fancy saber work the remainder dropped their weapons rather than lose their hands. The Jedi pulled up into a Soresu stance ready for the next move.

Seeing Rece get hit pretty hard by a volley of bolts, Apollo was quick to draw a stim from one of his pockets and jab it into the Chadra-fan's arm. As always, his hands were moving fast, this time drawing a blaster from another place on the inside of his trenchcoat.
"Hey Krenna!" the Zeltron yelled as loudly as he could over the din of battle to get her attention. The few seconds gave him a moment to find his aim. "Missed me yet?!" He winked at the lady before squeezing the trigger.
Surprisingly the shot landed, and Captain Apollo had her attention.

Zephrin flows smoothly through the Mandalorian squad, pouncing on them before they can bring their weapons to bear. 2 Fall almost instantly, cut down by his glowing blade and the last two have their rifles ripped from their grasp!

Apollo's shot sails across the battlefield and in an impressive display of shooting prowess hits Krenna right in the back of head...before bouncing off her armour.
The Warlord pauses, and then turns.
Despair Spend
Even at a distance, even through the chaos and smoke, even with her helmet on. The look she shoots at Apollo strikes daggers. A glare of pure, visceral anger. Enough to make even the most daring hero fall onto their backside!

Then, one of her elite Blood leaders stumbles onto the battlefield, drawn by the sound of gunfire.

Player's note:
The blood leader is Adversary 2 and comes in at short range to all PCs (roughly halfway between Zephrin and the rest of the group). He will roll initiative at the top of the next round. He can be targeted before then if you so wish.

Krenna moves to medium range from most PCs, short from Zephrin (2 strain). Action to grant the melee crusaders a free maneuver, they move to medium range from most PCs, short from Zephrin.
Mandalorian Lieutenant moves to short range from PCs and fires at Fec but misses. Triumph to free maneuver himself back to medium range from the PCs and short from Zephrin
Mandalorian lieutenant at Terreck. Short range. Terreck dodge and defence.

Krenna turns to the Mandalorian squad at her side "With me" and then she begins to run, heading straight for Apollo, the Neo-Crusaders at her side joining her in the rush for our scarlet hero!
The Mandalorian lieutenant decides that, maybe he shouldn't try and steal the kill from his extremely angry boss and insteads opts to shoot Terreck...and then promptly misses. He scrambles back a bit, hoping range might save him from retaliation.

The sho flew over Fec's shoulder as he ducked out of the way. taking a quick moment to iam before firing at the lieutenant that had shot at him.

Rece leaps to his feet and looks up at Apollo. "Thanks. And, listen, if I go down out there... call me." He holds up a hand up to his ear, then dashes off into the middle of the melee.
"Danger close, Zeph!" He plants a brick of detonite on the ground, rigging it up to a commlink detonator and setting some anti-tamper mechanisms.

Suddenly he could feel his heart beating. It was quite disconcerting.
Precision strikes took down the last of the Crusader Squad. Then he quickly leapt away. Something about Rece's tone struck deep chords in the force and he obviously had some sort of plan...

Rece stares Krenna straight in the visor. "Okay." He hovers his thumb over his speed dial, then redoes the math in his head and realizes he can actually outrun the blast radius. If he pushes himself to the limits, he just might have a little extra time to be the sword.
He scampers under the lieutenant's arms, unleashes a volley of blaster fire at Krenna, and sprints just outside the carefully-calibrated killzone. He slows to a walk, visor down, not looking back, as he dials his own comm number. A brief second of twangy guitar ringtone sounds before the explosion erupts behind him.

There's a thunderous explosion as most of the Mandalorian force is blown away by the sheer force of the blast, a massive cloud of dust kicks up at the epicenter and blankets most of the ruins with a thick, grey chalky film. After a few seconds bodies start raining down from the now obscured sky.
((For the rest of the round ranged attacks are at an additional three setback as the dust obscures almost everything! ■■■))
