Warm Refuge Coordination

Slowly wrapping my brain around this one.

Since everyone is locked into a location once someone starts to roll, it could definitely use coordination. And I'm willing to step back if there's folks with much better pools/Talents able to affect things.

Standard rolls: I'm best at Piloting ( but had a lot of trouble succeeding at it recently!)

Special rolls: Force boosted Perception/Vigilance (but mostly once/stage)

***************
My pools for rolls
Standard Rolls-may always be used:
Athletics: 2G
Piloting:Planetary: 3G1Y (+1 boost for Launch Bay)
Survival: 2G1Y

Special Rolls-may be used once per Stage (may alter via location rules or Triumphs):
Cool: 2G
Discipline: 2G1Y (1 boost for one roll per session-Meditation room)
Leadership: 2G
Knowledge:Outer Rim: 2G
Perception: 2G1Y2F
Vigilance: 2G1Y2F

Need 12 points in less than 21 rolls (so probably useful to track those in each post)
Avoid 10 Tracking poinst (also useful to track in each post)
(probably useful to track location and stage/round in posts to help folks orient as they drop in and catch up)

3 Stages
Each ends once 4 Travel points accrue.
Stick to a Location until a round ends. Ending a stage also ends the round.

______________________
Stage 1 Locations

Road:
(boost for Standard rolls. But threat adds to Tracking points up to 2x/roll)

Crystal Forest
(Setback to Standard rolls)

Frozen Lake
(Upgrade every roll)

_____________________
Stage 2 Locations

Road
(boost for Standard rolls. But threat adds to Tracking points up to 2x/roll)

Forest Depths
(2 Setback to Standard rolls. 1 Setback to Special rolls. 3 Threat will add a Tracking point)

Crystal Canyon
(Piloting or Athletics increase Difficulty. All rolls gain +1 Setback. No Tracking from Threat. Special Rolls may be used once/round instead of once/stage here.)

_____________________
Stage 3 Locations

Road
(boost for Standard rolls. Each roll adds a Tracking point. 1 Threat will become a Tracking point with further Threat converted to Setback as normal)

Frozen Trench
(Upgrade difficulty of all rolls. Triumph gains 250 credits of salvage)

Sleeting Forest
(1 Setback to each Standard roll. All rolls gain 2 Setback from cold and 2 Setback due to darkness/poor visibility)

My pools for rolls
Standard Rolls-may always be used:
Athletics: 1Y2G2B
Piloting:Planetary: 4G (+1 boost for Launch Bay)
Survival: 1G2Y

Special Rolls-may be used once per Stage (may alter via location rules or Triumphs):
Cool: 2G
Discipline: 2G (1 boost for one roll per session-Meditation room)
Leadership: 2G
Knowledge:Outer Rim: 2G
Perception: 2G1Y
Vigilance: 2G

I'm best with standard rolls and i have some setback reduction talents as well.

Outdoorsman Should cover the forest Setback for the stage 1 locations and 1 of the two for phase 2 of forest

It also might help with the setback of the phase 2 Crystal Canyon as well.

Sleeting Forest I can likely ignore all the setback as well. Just depends on the ruling on outdoorsman. So at the very least getting rid of 4 or the 5 setback.

Still had no time to properly read through the whole thing, but interested in this one so posting my pools at least

My pools for rolls
Standard Rolls-may always be used:
Athletics: 1Y4G1F (Best roll by far!)
Piloting:Planetary: 2G (+1 boost for Launch Bay)
Survival: 1G1Y

Special Rolls-may be used once per Stage (may alter via location rules or Triumphs):
Cool: 2G
Discipline: 3Y2B (1 boost for one roll per session-Meditation room) - best one by far
Leadership: 2G
Knowledge:Outer Rim: 1G
Perception: 2G
Vigilance: 3G - only other Snowie could be rolling probably

Haven't read on the setback yet but Snowie ignores a bunch of setback due to cold or snow, so there's that if it helps.

According to GM questions, it does!

And my Farsight removes a lot of setback in Stage 3 if I use the special roll for that Stage 3 Forest.

Stage 1 I'm liking the Forest. Yes, one setback, but avoiding tracking this early seems pretty nice.

Will roll that on lunch if there's no consensus otherwise, because the event does need to start and could take a little while with having to let everyone roll before starting the next round.

So far, so good!

2 more boosts passed, no tracking points yet. And I just noticed we cannot get more than 1 Travel point with a single roll, so gotta keep it slow and steady

Way to go, team!

For Stage 2:

Road:
The boost is nice and all, but we probably don't wanna risk the Tracking Points. Everyone on board with that?

Forest Depths:
Standard here would be vs 2D2S, but I think most of us reduce at least one of those setbacks?
Special rolls go vs 2D1S instead, with the Setback coming only from Difficult terrain.
It's also harder to accrue Tracking points (3 Threats to 1), which is good.

Crystal Canyon
Rolls would be vs 3D1S instead, with Setback only from Difficult terrain.
Threat doesn't generate Tracking points, and we can use Special Rolls at will.

Given we're fine on Tracking points so far, I feel I'd vote for the Forest.

But if someone can't remove one of the setbacks and/or we've got 2 people whose Special rolls are much better than the Standard rolls, we could go Canyon instead. What do you think?

Forest sounds fine to me. If nobody else is aiming at a Special roll for Stage 2, I might go for one of my Force-assisted ones.

Unless it would be a particularly bad fit for Vala, I think we can go ahead and start rolling for Stage 2 then? :)

Sorry! I might have rambled something to that effect on discord but I am fine with the choice of the next stage.

Ugh, now you mention it I think I remember reading that there at some point! My bad!

Forest stage 2 it is then!

One more success needed to clear Stage 2. Could be from any of us if I understand it correctly?

And we can switch areas if we feel like it. Not that I think it's necessary!

Ok, stage 3 it is!

Our choices are:
Road
Each roll made here will also increase Tracking Points by 1. Add 1 Boost die to each Standard roll made here. A single Threat will turn into a Tracking Point, with additional converted into Setback for the next roll as normal.

Frozen Trench
Special rules: Upgrade the difficulty of every roll made here. A Triumph can be spent here to obtain 250 credits in salvage.

Sleeting Forest
Special rules: Add one Setback to each Standard Roll made here (terrain). Additionally, all rolls gain two Setback from cold and two Setback from darkness/poor visibility.
I'd say we most likely want to skip the Road!

The Trench has upgraded difficulty (1R1P), so we risk some Tracking points from despair. But it might be easier than the forest. Not counting on finding creds, but they could be a nice extra if they happen.

Or we keep in the forest. It's "safer" as in no Despair, but more Setback might mean more threat and therefore a greater risk of Tracking points as well.

Snowie would be at 3 setback in the forest (1 from terrain, 2 from darkness).

Terreck is at 0 setback in the forest, but I imagine most others have more then that.

So I'm all for the trench.

Let's trench it up! Vala is ready to dig through this!
