"Come out with your hands-". Rook is exactly on time as half the barracks is vapourised by high grade explosives, chunks of stone flying off into the night with a deafening boom that echoes across the ice.

The guard instinctively all turn, looks like this is your chance.

(( Your choice of an average with a setback combat check to personally storm out, a leadership check to rally the rest of the hopers or an athletics check to have everyone rush the Mandos and turn it into a melee))

AS weary and wounded as the prisoners were, Terreck tried to take it on himself to storm out. It was a struggle though. Even with the distraction of the explosions.

Once more trying a Combat check at average with a setback. Custom grip to ignore the setback if possible. Rolling it in case it's not.

Terreck heroically charges out into the surprised Mandalorians, unfortunately one of them glances back at just the wrong moment and spots you on the way in! The guard brings up his carbine and manages to hit you center mass before you're amongst the Mandalorians!

((Take 10 damage 0 pierce))

Rook rushes out of the darkness to join you, firing a rifle of his own and in seconds the battle is joined. The Mandalorians have the number and are well armoured, but you two have the experience and the quality.

((Make me one melee check against average and a ranged combat check also against average, each failure will inflict a further 10 damage 0 pierce hit on Terreck))

Rook's arrival was enough to give Terreck the edge he needed and with knife in one hand and Carbine in the other he began to assault the Mandolorian's with vigor. This close is was sure to be a bloody affair, but that seemed to be the nature of this war.

It's all over after a few bloody seconds as you and Rook stand panting over the squad of Mandalorians. When you have a chance to look up you can see many of prisoners joined you wielding whatever they could find, chair legs, pieces of chain, their bare fists.

You've earned a moment of quiet now but it's only a matter of time until more guards find you. And there are still more prisoners out there...

"Rook, start leading these people to the exit." Terreck offered after taking a moment to catch his breath. His eyes going towards the prisoners for a moment.

"Though if there are any volunteers to help save some of the others here, feel free tograb a rifle and follow me."

After a life like this for weeks ort maybe even months volunteers were unlikely. At the very least there may be one though.

They're brave sentients, a couple prisoners who served in other regiments glance at eachother before rushing to pick up some of the Mandalorian's weapons.

((Add a boost dice to all your combat checks for the rest of the encounter)).

Now your little band can hurry to the next prisoner housing. Small fires have started all over the compound from Rook's blast and for now the few Mandalorians you do see are scurrying this way and that. But then you see one of the tower flashlights moving towards your group, and they have a dangerously good angle...

A newly put together squad didn't work like a well-oiled machine, so it was hard to get everyone down and out of the line of fire. Still, sometimes other things were in your favor.

Can i have a secondary explosion caused by the fire cause something to fall and obscure the shot. Maybe providing some sort of cover?

You hear a cry as one of the Mandalorians spots your group! Several shots fly out from the tower but you don't see anyone fall as you hurry into the next prisoner building.

This time you do see some members of the 277th. They look as badly off as the other prisoners, if not worse. Sergeant Olemna, a burly looking human is waiting for you when you arrive. All of them were clearly expecting something to go down once the shooting started.

"Fec? Didn't expect to see you here, but I'm not complaining. This some kind of a rescue?"

"More like a shit show, but if rescue works, I'll go with that." Fec replied as he motioned for some of the prisoners to start freeing the members of this building as he kept an eye on the door.

"Rook, if taking a group to our extraction point already. Most of you should start heading that way with these lot that are armed." He motioned to those freeing the prisoners. "You know if there are other places they keep prisoners? Other than these shanties?" He asked his fellow sergeant.

Your band starts setting the prisoners free with many an exchange of thanks and a few warm hugs. Olemna nods, kicking her leg to feel her new found freedom.

"Other than these two buildings they sometimes take a few prisoners into the commander's quarter's at night and force us to fight. It's supposed to be some parody of their challenge circle." She spits with contempt.

"Tonight they took Gunner and Szchez. Haven't seen 'em come back yet."

"Looks like I know where I'm headed then." With all this ruckus it was more then likely that the pair had been killed. He couldn't very well leave without checking though.

No self respecting sergeant would leave their soldiers behind. Not Terreck and not Olemna. She nods at you, picking up a wicked looking combat knife and joining you as you two stalk toward the commander's quarters.

By now the camp is in complete bedlum with multiple short range firefights breaking out between liberated prisoners and desperate guards as the fire spread from building to building. As you approach the HQ you can hear some old time Jizz playing softly from inside. Sounds like they were having a party before you came to spoil the mood.

There's a front door made of stout wood you could make kick in, a couple windows with stormblinds down and a backdoor. Over the sounds of the camp it's hard to tell what may be waiting within.

Likely there would be someone laying in wait. Though it was hard to pinpoint exactly where. Especially given the circumstances they were in.

It's impossible to know exactly what awaits you and you don't have the luxury of time to properly scout it out. A breach and clear into an unknown room full of hostiles is many a soldier's worst nightmare, but it's not going to stop you two.

((Pick your point of entry and front door, back door or windows. Roll me an average athletics with a setback for a dynamic entry!))
